• V-ing 的底層屬性 ➔ 「正在進行、已經發生、已存在的事」
• to + V 的底層屬性 ➔ 「未來、尚未發生、目標、方向」

finish + Ving

這件事要正在進行中，才能「完成」它

• Mom finished cooking at 5 p.m.

stop / quit + Ving 停止

事情正在做，才能喊停

• He quit using that dating app.（他放棄用那款交友軟體了。）
• we stopped talking.

enjoy（享受）+ Ving

你必須正在做、或做過某件事，才能享受它

• I enjoy coding in Sublime Text.（我享受用 Sublime 寫扣。）

mind(介意) + Ving

對方已經做了、或正在做某個動作，你才會去介意

• Do you mind turning down the music?（你介意把音樂關小聲點嗎？）

start begin

用to + V 跟 Ving都可以，都一樣意思。

• He starts eating the sandwich.
• Junior starts to wash the dishes.

to + V 因為還沒做，準備要去做

to + V，強調那個「跨入新狀態」的瞬間切換

• It started to rain. (突然開始下雨了)
• The baby started to cry. (寶寶突然開始哭了。 ➔ 突然爆哭的瞬間)

Ving 開始進行中(持續一陣子)

• I started learning English recently. (我最近開始學英文了)要持續一陣子
• She started using that dating app. (她開始用那款交友軟體了)要持續一陣子

啟動機器/開關（只能用 start，不能用 begin）

• How do I start the engine?（我要怎麼發動引擎？ ）
• ❌ How do I begin the engine?（機械不能用 begin）
