watch

watch 看別人在做的「一連串動作」。

hear + 名詞

  • Can you hear the music? 你能听到音乐吗?
  • I’m sorry to hear that.
  • Suddenly, Vikram hears a noise outside.
  • did you hear that?
  • I’m sorry to hear that.
  • Can you hear the plane?你能听到飞机吗?
  • I heard a sound, and it was a monkey.聽到一個聲音,那是隻猴子。
    • sound 是可數名詞,表示「某個具體的聲音、聲響」(例如聽到的一聲鳥鳴、一聲吼叫)時,它是可數的,所以前面可以用 a(如 a sound)。

「感官動詞 + 受詞 + 動作」是用來描述「看到別人做某事」

透過我們的五官(視覺、聽覺、觸覺、嗅覺、味覺)來感受動作。常見的有:see(看)、watch(看)、hear(聽)、listen to(聽)、feel(感覺)。

當你想表達「看到/聽到某人正在做某事」時,它的句型是:

感官動詞 + 受詞 + 動作(原形動詞 / V-ing) (中間絕對不能加 to!)

V-ing「正在做一個動作/正在發生」

Look at

  • She looks at her dog sleeping on the floor and laughs.

See(看到)

  • Junior sees his father, Eddy, crying. (Junior)看到他的父親艾迪(Eddy)正在哭。
    • 轉頭看過去的那個瞬間,爸爸的眼淚正在流、哭泣這個動作正在發生。
  • Junior hears his father crying.(Junior聽到爸爸正在哭。)
  • I saw him crossing the street. 我看到他正在過馬路。
  • I saw you waving at me.
  • he sees Lily drawing in the park.
  • I see you drawing every day.

Watch(注視、觀看)

  • She watched the kids playing in the park. (她看著孩子們在公園裡玩耍。——強調動作正在進行)
  • He watched the chef preparing dinner. (他看著主廚準備晚餐。——強調動作正在進行)

Hear(聽見)

  • I heard someone knocking on the door. (我聽到有人在敲門。——強調敲門聲正在發生)
  • Can you hear the birds singing outside? (你聽得到外面的鳥兒在唱歌嗎?)

Feel(感覺)

  • He felt his heart beating fast before the presentation. (上台報告前,他感覺到自己的心跳得好快。)
  • She felt a cool breeze blowing across her face. (她感覺到一陣涼風吹拂過她的臉龐。)
  • I felt him touching me.我感受到他「正在碰你、那個動作持續進行中」的畫面。

smell(聞到)

  • I could smell something burning in the kitchen. (我聞到廚房裡有東西在燒焦。)
  • She noticed the cat sleeping on the sofa. (她注意到那隻貓正在沙發上睡覺。)

原形動詞 「看到整個過程」

用原形動詞 → 強調「看到整個過程」(從頭到尾發生)。
Junior sees his father cry. 感覺會比較像「Junior 目睹了爸爸哭泣的這個事實或全貌」。

  • Notice(注意到)
    • I noticed someone enter the room.(我注意到有人進了房間。)
    • Did you notice anyone leave the building? (你有注意到任何人離開這棟大樓嗎?)
  • Hear(聽見)
    • I heard her sing a song.(我聽到她唱歌。——強調聽完整個過程)
    • We heard the thunder rumble in the distance. (我們聽到雷聲在遠處隆隆作響。)
  • Listen to(聆聽——注意聽)
    • She listened to her favorite singer sing live. 她聽她最愛的歌手現場演唱。——強調聽到整首歌的演唱過程)

seem + to + 原形動詞

  • He seemed to know the way.(他似乎知道那條路。)
  • It seems to rain.(天好像要下雨了。)
  • They seem to be enjoying the party.

感官 + like + 名詞/子句

加上 like 之後,是用來「形容某人或某物『看起來/聽起來/聞起來像什麼』」。

like 當連接詞來使用(直接連接一個子句),中間用來連接的 that 就被省略掉了。

look like(像什麼人事物) + 名詞/子句

  • Her hobby looks like painting.她的興趣看起來像畫畫

  • This house looks like a castle.(這棟房子看起來像個城堡)
  • You look like your father.(你長得像你爸爸)
  • He looks like a ghost.(他看起來像個鬼)

Sound like(聽起來像…)

用於聽覺。

  • That music sounds like an old jazz song. (那段音樂聽起來像老爵士樂。)
  • It sounds like someone is crying.(聽起來像有人在哭。)
  • It sounds like someone is knocking on the front door. (聽起來像有人在敲大門。)

Smell like(聞起來像…)

用於嗅覺。

  • This perfume smells like roses.(這款香水聞起來像玫瑰。)

Feel like(感覺) + 名詞/子句
  • It feels like spring.(感覺像是春天)

Feel like 想要

Feel like(想要「做」某事) + 動詞Ving
  • I feel like eating pizza 我好想吃披薩。

look for 尋找

look out 小心/注意

look after 照顧

look out of the [某個地方](從…裡面向外看)

用 out of(強調從內部穿透出去):

  • look out ofthe tent(從帳篷裡面向外看)
  • look out ofthe window(從窗戶向外看)
  • She looked out of the window.(她從窗戶往外看。)
  • I’ll look out of the tent.(我會從帳篷裡向外看。

look outside(看外面)

  • It’s raining. Let’s look outside.(外面在下雨。我們看外面吧。) look out(小心!/注意!)

用 outside(直接接名詞):

  • look outsidethe tent(看著帳篷外面)
  • wait outsidethe office(在辦公室外面等)

Listen to 不及物動詞

當你想說「聽某人說話」或「聽某個聲音」時,一定要加 to

  • listen to me
  • listen to music

後面沒有受詞,就沒有to

  • Did you listen when she talked?
    • when … 是一個「當…什麼時候」時間副詞,不是受詞。
    • listen後面沒有受詞,不用to。
