Instruction 指示、說明、教導，有步驟
核心字根：-struct-（建造、組合、構築)
in-（進入、向內、往上）:在這裡有「往內、給予、灌輸」的意思。
-ion（名詞字尾）:把動詞變成名詞（表示「動作的結果」或「過程」）。
in-（向內/給予） + struct（建造）= 在腦海中建造、為你搭建架構、灌輸觀念
動詞 instruct 除了有「指示、命令」之外，也有「教導、指導」的意思
instructor 就是教練、講師。
它通常是一步一步（step-by-step）的具體指令
常見情境： 考試作答說明、組裝傢俱的說明書、軟體安裝步驟、安全操作規範。
- Please read the instructions carefully before taking the exam. （請在考試前仔細閱讀作答說明——這是強制要遵守的規則。）
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to install the software. （請按照製造商的操作指示來安裝軟體。）
instruction 是名詞（指示、說明、教導），而 instructor 是指人的名詞（教練、講師、指導員）。

- The teacher gave clear instructions on how to complete the homework. （老師針對如何完成這項作業，給了清晰的指導與指示。）

- She works as a fitness instructor at the local gym. （她在當地的健身房擔任健身指導員。）
- Instruct（動詞：指導、教導）＝ 幫你把觀念或步驟建立起來。
- Instruction（名詞：說明、指示）＝ 建立起來的規則或步驟。
- Instructor（名詞：教練、講師）＝ 負責「建造、教導你」的那個人！
Directions（操作指引／步驟說明）
照著做、怎麼執行的步驟導引（像地圖指引你怎麼走）。
偏向「實作、步驟、怎麼操作」。
最常出現在考卷作答、測驗施測、藥品使用說明或組裝步驟中。
- Follow the directions on the back of the medicine box. （請依照藥盒背面的服用指示。）
- Check the directions for administering the test. （請查看該測驗的施測說明/步驟。）
Guideline（參考原則）
建議方向、參考
它不會硬性規定你每一個細節怎麼做，而是告訴你「在這個範圍內做事比較好、比較理想」。
常見情境： 公司政策方針、健康飲食建議、社群媒體發文規範、設計排版原則。
- The company provided new guidelines for working from home. （公司提供了居家辦公的新指導方針——給大家當作做事的大原則參考。）
- These are just general guidelines, not strict rules. （這些只是大方向的參考原則，並不是嚴格的規定。）
