Step

step on（踩到 / 踏上）

意思：腳踩在某物上面，或是登上某個地方。

• Watch out! Don’t step on that bug. （小心！不要踩到那隻蟲。）
• She stepped on the scale to check her weight. （她站上體重計去量體重。）

step back（後退 / 退一步思考）

意思：身體往後退，或比喻暫時跳脫現狀、冷静思考。

• Please step back and give the driver some space. 。（請往後退，給司機一些空間。）
• Let’s step back and look at the big picture. （我們退一步來看看整體大局吧。）

step backward（向後一步 / 倒退）

實體移動：身體往後退一步。

• He stepped backward to avoid the falling branch. 。（他往後退了一步以避開掉落的樹枝。）

step back 與 step backword 一樣

• He stepped back to avoid the puddle. ＝ 他往後退一步避開水坑。
• He stepped backward to avoid the puddle. ＝ 同上。

step forward（向前一步 /挺身而出 / 主動站出來）

實體移動：身體往前跨一步。

• Please step forward to take your photo. （請向前一步來拍照。）

step aside（讓路 / 靠邊站）

意思：移動身體讓出空間給別人通過，或指讓出職位。

• Can you step aside so I can open the door? （你可以讓旁邊去好讓我開門嗎？）
• she stepped aside to let them pass 她站到一邊讓他們過去
