Up / Down + to + 目的地

用來描述「往上」或「往下」移動到某個樓層、區域：

• go up to / head up to（往上走到…）
• Let’s go up to the rooftop.（我們去頂樓吧。）

• I need to head up to the 10th floor for a meeting.（我得去10樓開會。）

• go down to/ walk down to（往下走到…）
• She went down to the basement to get some wine.（她下樓到地下室拿酒。）
• Let’s walk down to the lobby.（我們走樓梯下大廳吧。）
• Head down to the basement.（往下走到地下室。）

go up to 樓層 (上樓梯)

• If you go up to the fourth floor, you’ll see the pool.

go down to 樓層 (下樓梯)

• Go down to the first floor.（走到一樓去。）
• Be careful when you go down the stairs.（你走下樓梯時要小心。）

go up + 往上走的方式(the elevator/the stairS)

• You have to go up the elevator, not down.你必須搭電梯往上，不是往下
• If you go up the stairs, you’ll see the restaurant.如果你走上樓梯，就會看到餐廳。

go down + 往下走的方式(the elevator/the stairs)

• Go down the stairs（走下樓梯）

upstairS(樓上) downstairS(樓下) 副詞 形容詞

注意後面有S，這兩個字比較特別，它們既可以當形容詞，也可以當副詞。

副詞

• Go upstairs.（去樓上 → 副詞）
• Go downstairs. 走下樓(副)
• ❌ 絕對不能再加任何介系詞（不能說 go to downstairs）。

形容詞 (樓上的,樓下的)

• upstairs 當形容詞（樓上的）
  • The upstairs room（樓上的房間 → 形容詞）
  • Please put the boxes in the upstairs bedroom. (請把箱子放在樓上的臥室。)
  • I left my phone in the upstairs bathroom. (我的手機忘在樓上的浴室了。)
• The upstairs neighbors are a bit noisy tonight. (樓上的鄰居今晚有點吵。)
  • downstairs 當形容詞（樓下的）
  • We heard a strange noise from the downstairs living room. (我們聽到樓下的客廳傳來奇怪的聲音。)
  • Can you check if the downstairs lights are still on? (你可以檢查一下樓下的燈是不是還開著嗎？)
  • She set up her home office in the downstairs study. (她在樓下的書房設置了她的居家辦公室。)
    • 前面加上冠詞（a study）或形容詞（如 the downstairs study）時，它就是一個名詞，專指家裡用來讀書、辦公、寫字的「書房」。

Take the stairs（走樓梯）

• Let’s take the stairs instead of the elevator.（我們走樓梯，不要搭電梯吧。）

take + 電梯 = 搭電梯

• You can’t take this elevator now.你現在不能搭這部電梯。
• You shouldn’t take the elevator during a fire.（火災時你不應該搭電梯。）

take + 電梯 + to + 第幾樓 (搭電梯到幾樓)

• Take the elevator to [樓層]
  • Take the elevator to the fourth floor. （搭電梯到四樓。）

take + 電梯 + up to + 第幾樓 (搭電梯到幾樓)

• Take the elevator up to [樓層]
  • Take the elevator up to the fourth floor. （搭電梯到四樓。）

take + 電梯 + down to + 第幾樓 (搭電梯到幾樓)

I’ll take the elevator down to the fourth floor.（強調「往下」去四樓）

Ground Floor

在歐洲，你在地面層搭電梯，想去真正的二樓，你必須按 1，因為 1 是 First Floor，也就是比 Ground Floor 高一層的樓層。

• 英式英文（UK）：
  • 地面那一層叫 Ground Floor (簡稱 G)。
  • 上一層才叫 First Floor（我們的二樓）。
• 美式英文（US）：
  • 地面那一層直接叫 First Floor（一樓）。
  • 上一層叫 Second Floor（二樓）。
