due to, because of 因為

be + due to + 名詞 (解釋前面主詞的原因)

當句子有 Be 動詞（is/was/are/were），後面是 due to 當作形容詞補語，用來解釋主詞的原因。

• His success is due to years of hard work. (他的成功歸因於多年的努力。)
• The delay was due to a technical glitch in the system. (這次延誤是由於系統中的技術故障造成的。)
• Her absence from work is due to a sudden illness. (她缺勤是因為突發疾病。)
• The cancellation of the flight was due to severe turbulence warnings. (航班取消是因為嚴重的亂流警告。)

名詞 + due to + 名詞

due to + 名詞 放在名詞後面 變成形容詞片語，修飾前面的名詞。

• Flights due to bad weather have been grounded. (由於惡劣天氣而導致的航班已被停飛。)
• The financial crisis due to poor management ruined the company. (由於經營不善而導致的金融危機毀了這家公司。)

because of + 名詞（用來修飾動詞或整個事件)

放在動詞後面修飾動作
注意：because of 後面也是接名詞或名詞片語，但它可以自由地放在句首或句尾來修飾動作。

• We had to cancel the picnic because of the heavy rain. (因為大雨，我們不得不取消野餐。)
• She couldn’t sleep because of the loud noise outside. (因為外面的巨大噪音，她睡不著。)
• Because of traffic congestion, I missed the beginning of the movie. (因為交通擁堵，我錯過了電影的開頭。)
• He succeeded because of his unwavering determination. (他成功了，是因為他堅定不移的決心。)

小提醒： 如果你想用最安全的寫法，當句子有 Be 動詞（is/was/are/were） 時，優先選擇 due to；如果是要放在動詞後面修飾動作（例如 cancel the trip because of…），優先選擇 because of！
