only只有(限定詞) + 名詞

量詞限定詞:交代數量，用來修飾名詞的多少

• Only Anna joined the French club.只有安娜加入了法文社（沒有別人）。
  • only 放在主詞 Anna 的前面，是用來修飾整個主詞，表示「除了安娜（Anna）之外，沒有其他人」加入了法文社。
• Only adults are allowed here.（只有成年人才被允許進入。）
• Only children can understand.（只有小孩懂。）
• It’s only five o’clock. Is the cafe closed?才五点。咖啡厅关门了吗？

only(副詞) + 動詞 只是

only 修飾動詞時：它放在動詞前面，是用來限定這個動作的範圍或程度

• I was only gone for a week!我只是離開一個禮拜
• Anna only joined the French club.安娜只是加入了法文社
  • 僅僅是加入，沒做別的
• She only wants to help.（她只是想幫忙。）

only(副詞) + 形容詞 只是

only 是個副詞（Adverb），用來限定範圍，意思是「只有、僅僅」。

• He was only seven years old then.他当时只有七岁。
• The test was only a little difficult.（這個考試「僅僅」有一點難。）

the only 唯一

放在名詞前面，意思是「僅有的、唯一的」，前面通常會加定冠詞 the。

• You are the only person who understands me.（你是唯一懂我的人。）

only當「連接詞」只是

跟but很像。

• I would love to go, only I don’t have enough time.（我很想去，只是我沒有足夠的時間。）

only + 冠詞(a/ an / the) + 名詞 (只是)

表示「只有、僅僅」的副詞 only，絕對不能放在冠詞（a / an / the）的後面。
