things 和 stuff 都可以翻譯成中文的「事情」或「東西」

1. 核心文法差異（可數 vs. 不可數）

Things（可數名詞）

它是 thing 的複數形，可以用具體的數字來計算（例如：two things, three things）。

• There are three things I need to tell you.（我有三件事需要告訴你。）
• A strange thing took place last night. （昨晚發生了一件奇怪的事。）
• You can’t do two difficult things at once.（你無法同時做好兩件困難的事。）

Stuff（不可數名詞）

它是一個統稱，沒有複數形（不能說 stuffs）。 適合用來指籠統的一堆事務、雜物或情況，像是一個抽象的集合體。

• I have a lot of stuff to do today.（我今天有很多事要做。）

2. 指「物品、雜物」時的差異

除了表示「事情」外，這兩個字也常用來指「東西」：

things go/ things get better

• Things will get better over time. （情況隨著時間會變好的。）
• Things go well ＝ 事情正在往好的方向「進行」。
• Things didn’t go as we planned.（事情不如我們計畫的那樣進行。）
• Do you ever feel like giving up when things get hard? (當事情變困難時，你曾覺得想放棄嗎？)
