kind of 種類 / different

• Where does the apple come from?
  • 這個蘋果(單數)是那來的？也可以回答是某個產地，但也可能是超市買來？便利商店？你媽給的？
• Where does this kind of apple come from?
  • 這個「種類」的蘋果(單數)是來自那個產地
• Where does this kind of apples come from?
  • 這個「種類」的蘋果(複數)是來自那個產地
• Where does this kind of rice come from?
  • 這個「種類」的米(不可數名詞，不加s)是來自那個產地

助動詞does是跟著kind，助動詞不是跟著蘋果或米。

若有二個種類的蘋果

• Where do these two kinds of apples come from?
  • 這「二種」蘋果是來自那個產地，可能有一大堆蘋果，但一種是華盛頓蘋果，一種是青森蘋果。
  • 回答:They come from Japan and the US.因為有二種，不能用It，要用They

若有很多種類的蘋果，把數字two去掉。

若想用be動詞 + from = come from，都是問產地，以下都是同樣意思，只有單複數之分。

  • 答： It COMES from Thailand.（It 搭配動詞加 s）
• 複數問： Where DO these kinds of rice come from?（例如：桌上有泰國香米、日本越光米、台灣池上米好幾堆)
  • 答： They COME from Thailand and Japan.（They 搭配原形動詞）

all/different kinds of 各種各樣

all所有種類、different(各種)都是複數，所以kind後面要加上s。

• all kinds of…（各種各樣的）
  • I like all kinds of music. （我喜歡各種各樣的音樂)
• different kinds of…（不同種類的）
  • There are many different kinds of people in the world.世界上有許多不同種類的人

因為coffee已經是產出的產品了，所以不加kind of種類。

A kind of + 可數/不可數名詞 一種

a kind of + 可數/不可數名詞

kind 在這裡當名詞，意思是「種類」。前面的 a 是修飾 kind（一種）。

• a kind of dog（一種狗）可數
• a kind of music（一種音樂）不可數
• a kind of fruit（一種水果）不可數
• a kind of feeling（一種感覺）不可數

形容詞 + kind of + 名詞

kind 前面可以加形容詞！

• 有多種、不同的、或者是許多種時，它就必須變成複數形 kinds：

  • Many kinds of candy.（多種糖果）

different

• She moved to a different city. “a” 的原因是因為 “city”（城市）是可數名詞，而且在這裡指的是「某個不特定的新城市」。

在英文中，單數的可數名詞（例如 city, car, house）絕對不能光禿禿地單獨出現，前面一定要加上冠詞（如 a, an, the）或所有格（如 my, her）。

為什麼用 “a”（不定冠詞），而不是 “the”？

“a”（一個）：用在提到某個名詞，但聽話的人不知道具體是哪一個的時候。 在這句話中，說話者只知道她搬去了一個「不同的城市」，但沒有指明是哪一座城市（例如：沒有說搬去台北或紐約），所以用 a。

如果今天雙方都知道是哪一座城市，就會用 “the”（定冠詞）：

She moved to the city where her parents live.（她搬去了她父母住的那座城市。）

Different + 複數名詞 = 許多「種」不同的

當你想表達「許多種不同的…」或「不同的（多個）…」時，後面就要接複數名詞。

• She wears different shoes every day.（她每天穿不同的鞋子——多雙鞋。）
• We have different opinions.（我們有不同的意見——多個意見。）

Different + 單數可數名詞 = 不同的

當你想表達「另外一個（不同於原來的）單一事物」時，後面就要接單數可數名詞，而且前面一定要加 a。

• a different flavor 另外一種不同的口味
• She moved to a different city.（她搬去了一個不同的城市——指搬去「某個新城市」，單數一個。）
• Let’s try a different restaurant.（我們去試試不同的餐廳吧——單數一家。）
• Can we meet on a different day?（我們可以改在另一天(不同天)見面嗎——單數一天。）
• I need a different approach to solve this problem.（我需要不同的方法來解決這個問題——單數一個方法。）
• Can I try a different flavor?（我可以試試不同的口味嗎？——單數一種口味。）
• I bought a different book.（我買了另一(不同)本書——不同於原本那本的一本書。）

💡 簡單的判斷口訣

• a different + 單數名詞 ＝ 換了「另一個」單一物品。
• different + 複數名詞 ＝ 存在「多種不同的」物品。

• different flavors（複數）
  • 各種不同的口味（很多種選擇）。

意思是「不同種類的…」

Different（不同的）+ kinds（種類們）+ of（...的）+ 名詞

• 為什麼 “kind” 後面要加 “s”？
  • 因為 “kind”（種類）是一個可數名詞。當我們想表達「好幾種不同的東西」時，”kind” 就必須變成複數形 kinds。
• 後面接什麼樣的名詞？ -因為 “kinds” 已經是複數了，所以它後面接的名詞通常是複數名詞（或不可數名詞），用來指「各種不同類型的物品」。

接複數可數名詞：

• Different kinds of books（不同種類的書）
• Different kinds of animals（不同種類的動物）

接不可數名詞：

• Different kinds of music（不同種類的音樂）

• Different kinds of food（不同種類的食物）

• The zoo has different kinds of animals. （這座動物園有不同種類的動物。）
• She likes listening to different kinds of music. （她喜歡聽不同種類的音樂。）
